Original Boat Information
Ordered by the NZ Colonial Govt Oct. 1863, designed by James Stewart C.E., & built by P.N. Russell & Co. Sydney Australia. Delivered in parts & assembled Port Waikato. Shallow draft supply vessel and for towing supply barges. Brought the first farmer settlers to Hamilton on 24th August 1864. Had a long 27 year life on the river before being stripped of machinery, and abandoned on the riverbank.
Has recently been pulled from the river and is now preserved as a memorial to the first settlers to Hamilton
